barranco: Lima - bohemian Barranco and Miraflores quarters

In Lima the quarters of Barranco and Miraflores are known for their bohemian night life. Barranco means something like “cliff” in Castilian Spanish, and indeed you will be walking along the beach line, formed at the feet of the coastal cliffs. Miraflores stays on top of the cliffs, with great views to the Pacific, and is one of the richer areas of Lima. The Love Park in Miraflores has gigantic statues of couples in a few roundabouts – resulting quite picturesque. In between Barranco and Miraflores there is a very nice restaurant called Rosa Náutica, located over a sea pier. Some surf and sailing schools are available in the area. Further ahead, in El Morro Solar there is a Planetarium. Enjoy!
