Tabatinga: Tabatinga, the Brazilian border Amazon city - an overview

In Tabatinga the Brazilian Armed Forces have an important role in all aspects of social life. Quite often combined Navy, Army and Air Force exercises are done, to state the Brazilian sovereignty and show the country operational capacities all over the huge Amazon territory. With these some educational and medical social actions also take place.
In Tabatinga, as it headquarters significant Navy and Army populations, the main hospital in town is maintained by the Army, but also open to the civilian population. The first tourism information points are under construction and about to open – and commerce still has room for improvement in order to explore the local resources in a sustainable way.
