New Orleans: Laissez les Bons Temps Rouler - Let the Good Time Roll

On a roadtrip of mine several years ago, myself and 5 of my friends somehow picked out this hostel in New Orleans. Sure we could have stayed in a hotel or any other location - but after seeing the pictures and hearing the stories - I felt like we just had to stay at The India House Backpackers Hostel.

Some of the highlights of this hostel include an area in the backyard to BBQ, an awesome lounge, a guest kitchen, WIFI, and now there's even a pool in the backyard! The best part is that this hostel is located right by the street card which for $1.25 take you right to Bourbon St. You could also take the 15-20 minute walk instead.

I visited this hostel weeks before Hurrican Katrina ripped through town. My friends and I were very sad when we heard there were damages to the hostel during the hurricane. Because of the support of the local community and a lot of hardwork, months later the hostel re-opened and was back in action.

Don't stay at just another hotel in New Orleans. Stay at The India House instead and make some friends along the way.
