I stayed at the Riffelalp for my wedding night. Located on a 2222 meter high mountain plateau, amidst flower meadows in the summer and prime ski slopes in the winter, this luxury oasis offers a range of rooms and suites, two restaurants, a classy Scottish-style bar, an outdoor heated pool, a spa, and amazing service. My husband and I stayed at the Matterhorn suite which offers a picture perfect view of the Matterhorn and the surrounding mountain scape. The Riffelalp used to be President Kennedy's favorite getaway. He'd rent out the whole hotel for himself. We only stayed for one night, but the atmosphere of complete luxury and complete casualness will always stay with us.
