Casa do Cabildo (Old Town House): A fake facade to match the Cathedral splendor

I find the story of this building very peculiar. The old town hall was located right in front of the Cathedral but it´s rather plain facade contrasted with the splendor of the Cathedral. They decided to built one meter facade that will match with the cathedral and although it looks beautiful and as a house it is actually a "fake" facade with windows and curtains. If you walk around you may be able to see a door opened in the ground floor and have a look at the old facade wich was just a white wall. This facade is in front of the Fountain of the Horses in the Plaza de las Platerias.
