Swanage: Swanage

Swanage is a really pleasant Dorset seaside town at the end of the Isle of Purbeck. On a clear day there are good views along the coast and over to the western tip of the Isle of Wight. It has a long and fine sandy beach, in stark contrast to the stone and pebble beaches of the south-facing part of the coastline so it’s popular with day-trippers when the weather is fine.

The town has a good range of services, several large pay and display car parks and is on the South West coast path with walking access to the Old Harry Rocks some four miles distant.

There are all the facilities you’d expect from a town of this size and the nearby steam railway which runs up to Corfe Castle.
