Leonis Adobe: Ghost hunting at Leonis Adobe in Calabasas

Tucked away in the Santa Monica Mountains, the city of Calabasas used to be one of the most dangerous Wild West towns along the famous Butterfield Stage Route. One of the remnants of its wicked days is Leonis Adobe, occupied by Miguel Leonis and his wife. A Basque immigrant, Miguel was a patriarch and aggressive rancher who acquired a bad reputation for shooting people that came too close to his property. He became one of the most hated men in the county. When he died in a wagon accident in 1889, rumors had it that he had been murdered. Left with nothing but grief, his wife died shortly after him and the property was sold. Soon, reports of strange noises and mysterious apparitions began to occur. Today, Leonis Adobe is open to visitors. I have been there many times, watching out for ghosts, but haven't spotted one yet. But I have attended the Murder Mystery Dinner at Leonis Adobe. It's a great show with a no host bar, games and prizes.
