Sunset Surf: Sunset Surf

If you head from Santa Monica north on Pacific Coast Highway, keep your eye out on the left for one of L.A.’s most popular surf spots. Just south of Gladstones restaurant at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway, the little bay offers a nice point break. Because the waves are soft, they are great for beginners, but the consistent surf also attracts expert surfers. Even if you’re not a surfer, the round, smooth waves are beautiful to watch as they lift up surfer after surfer and carry them to shore.The best time to surf or watch is in the early morning or at sunset. Parking is free along the road, but watch the traffic signs!
