Trattoria dell'Angelo: Great, classic Italian

Most of the Italian restaurants that I've encountered in Paris either cater to the haute cuisine crowd or are mostly pizza joints. This one, however, is neither: the pizza is great, but the pastas and the antipasto bar are the stars.

A special pasta is nearly always on order, and I've never been disappointed with it, but try one of the regular menu items, and you're sure to be in for a treat. Be aware that this is not an Italian-American joint: the pasta sizes you may be used to from back in the States will not appear here. The dishes are the same size you will find in Italy, where pasta is served as a first course, so if you're really hungry, consider getting a main course to split after, or splitting some of the incredible antipasto to start: the antipasto bar is right in the middle of the dining room, so you can throw a glance over to see what looks irresistible.
