The Melting Pot: What happened to the cheese?

This restaurant kind of confuses me: it's called the melting pot, but cheese fondue is only offered as an appetizer! Maybe it's because I'm so used to living in France and having Swiss-style fondue, but I didn't really know what to do with myself when the cheese fondue was finished and I was still hungry.

We moved on to meat and then chocolate, but it just wasn't the same. For me, the whole point of fondue is about the melty cheese and stale bread, which is really only a vehicle for cheese.

That said, if I had no expectations, I would have only nice things to say about this chain. The meat fondue... that concept still confuses me, was actually kind of fun. It was like Shabu Shabu, where you cook your meat in boiling broth or wine. I liked the chocolate fondue too, and the cocktails on offer were fun and delicious... but in the end, all I wanted was more cheese! What happened to the cheese?

There is a Melting Pot Restaurant in Jamaica as well but it has nothing to do with any kind of cheese. I think the Melting Pot I know may refer to various cultures blending together in their cuisine. Usually the Caribbean is refered to as a melting pot because of the various mix of people from diverse backgrounds. Maybe its the same story for this melting pot.
