If you are looking to see ‘old Nice’, where the real Niçoise people live, make your way to Vielle Ville which is the city’s old town. The area is a maze of narrow streets and walking through the area shows you there is more to the city than beautiful people and money.

It’s great to wander the little alleys and streets or to sit in a cafe with a kir and people watch. Yes sure there are the typical tourist type shops but also some lovely funky and very French shops too so sample them all. There are many lovely restaurants too many to name. Often the fixed price menus are great value for lunch.

The old town is quite magical and I am sure you will find yourself drawn back time and time again on any visit to Nice.
