Nizza: Nice Beaches--Crazy Unique.

Nearly all the beaches in Nice stretch along the bay. There are a few private beaches…and I have no idea if we encountered any, but I’m thinking that we were close enough to the water during our walk that no one bothered us about it. The beaches in Nice are wonderful and unusual. There is no sand on their beaches…only smooth stones (perfect for skipping). I personally enjoyed walking around the beach areas…but it is different and would warn others about this. Maybe I’m used to sand beaches, and we did visit in Spring so I don’t know what the summer turnout is, but I would suspect that people do not spend their days laying out and playing at them (as the pebbles can be hard on your feet, I recommend wearing shoes). I did see a good number of people walking along the shore line, or sitting out at the beaches after sundown. It was recommended to me to pay the fee at a private beach for comfy sun beds and towels than to visit a public beach. Regardless of the ground…the water is stunning (a magnificent blue shade), even in spring it was warm enough to wear a tank top and jeans, and the atmosphere is out of this world.
