Triund: Trek to Triund

Triund lies at the feet of the perpetually snow clad Dhauladhar mountains at the height of 2975 metres. The snow line starts only 5km from here. The trek up from Dharamkot to Triund is spectacular and challenging with a view of the first real Himalayan peaks and valleys. Living facilities are available at the top in the form of tents and a few shops. The view at the Triund is breathtaking – open fields and snow mountains. The trek isn’t easy, so its always recommended to wear good shoes and carry a warm layer, water and energy snacks but try to trek as light as possible. At the top, there are some amenities but the weather can change very quickly.
