Half Crescent: Living in a half crescent

Staying at the tiny Half Crescent beach was one of my most real experiences. The living quarter was a tiny room – four walls, floor and roof included; a forest hill just behind and a small terrace farm in front. I had no sleeping bag, but they gave me a straw mat. There was no electricity, but I did get a candle and matches. The water had to be drawn from a well. The community toilet was a long pit dug into the earth, surrounded by four flimsy thatched walls. The community bathroom was a small thatched room in the middle of the field, under the naked sky.
This was by far the most eco-friendly living I’d ever done. Needless to say, not many people stop at this beach.
