Birmingham: Birmingham - shopping

Heavens I should write a shopping guide for Birmingham. However since I am strapped for time at the moment here are just a few quick guidelines.


I know Bull Ring is fantastic and all that but I would avoid spending prolonged periods of time in there. For some reason (and I think it has something to do with neon lights) after a while you get dreadfully dizzy. I thought I was being weird however when my friend experienced the same symptoms we realized that might have been the cause.


Also avoid city center like plague on Saturday mornings. You will have to fight your way through the throngs of shoppers and you cannot find a place to sit down and have coffee nor for love or money. There are lines for everything – to try on the clothes, to get into the shop, to go on the escalator. Try Sunday morning much better by far.


Best time for sales end of January.
