Birmingham: Birmingham - general information

It has to be said I have a very love/hate relationship with Birmingham. I lived there while I did my postgraduate course and it was dislike on first sight. Maybe because it did not stop raining for the first 3 weeks I got there.


However after a while, I settled in and I was fine. It must have been the friends I have made or maybe it was copious amounts of alcohol I don’t know but it has grown on me.


There are good bits in Birmingham (apart from the alcohol). There is plenty of shopping (and some amazing deals to be had), there is the Broad street which is the party central and there are those unexpected gems you can find along the way – the walk next to the river from the University campus to the city center (highly recommended by the way).
