Taronga Zoo: KidZoo

This is the area where we spent most time in. I just could not get my son to leave. In the farmyard, you could get quite close to the animals and this was the only area of the zoo where you could interact with animals directly (excluding the special photo opportunities at certain times of the day). Nothing exotic, just farm animals, but children don’t care. They would rather spend an hour playing with a goat than look at a lion from a mile away. A couple of times during the day, the keepers brought a lizard and a bunny for the kids to pat.

There is a great play area with lots of opportunities for climbing and sliding. The main attraction was a water play area and everyone seemed to be getting soaked through. So if you are visiting the zoo with young kids, make sure to bring spare clothes. I had two spare shirts for my son, and they all got wet.
