The American chain of Italian trattorias, Maggiano's Little Italy offers a palatable range of Italian dishes. Although I'm not the biggest enthusiast of chain restaurants, I have to bend my rules a bit here. But right off the bat, I will say that it is not deserving of ALL the hype it receives. I like it a lot, but again, it's not the best Italian food you'll ever have. Do try some of its signature items like Braised Beef Cannelloni (braised beef, asiago, and parmesan cheese stuffed in cannelloni) and South Philly Chicken Cacciatore, featuring slow-cooked chicken smothered in Maggiano's home-made red wine tomato sauce with mushrooms, roasted peppers, and onions. And don't miss out on its highly acclaimed desserts, especially the tiramisu!
