Devil's Churn: Devil's Churn

Devil's Churn is one of the many attractions located on Cape Perpetua. The overlook for Devil's Churn stands high above the narrow inlet itself. It is located near the parking lot and easily accessible. The view from here is beautiful. You get a great overview of Devil's Churn itself as well as a nice view of the ocean and part of the cape itself. There is a nice path that leads down the rocks to afford a closer view of this site.

While it is reputed to be quite incredible, I would highly recommend visiting during high tide. The most spectacular views are said to be at high tide and during storms. We visited as the tide was going out, and the waves were not nearly as large as those we had heard about. In spite of missing the big waves, the day was sunny and beautiful, with great visibility out to sea.

It can be windy and quite cool here. The wind blew constantly during our visit, so come prepared for cool weather, even if the day is sunny.
