Macquarie Centre in Springwood, NSW, Australia has some unique shops to check out. There are four plazas in this town that try to serve the needs of everyone. This one is more for entertainment, pampering and gift items.
Sew & Save is a quilting, yarn, needlework, etc. shop for any craft items you may be looking for. There are some great kits for projects in all crafts, or put your own together. In the window or in the plaza hall there is always some idea for quilting or knitting that catches my eye.
Brown Books is my favourite used book store. There are always specials outside on magazines and paperbacks for some light reading. They have a great collection of Australian history books, cookbooks and fictions. Their prices are really reasonable and I can always find something I didn’t even know I was looking for.
Kevlen House and Face of an Angel Beauty Salon are both house here for your hair needs. I have used Kevlen House; they were very friendly and go out of their way to get you the style that you are after.
Kid’s fun Shop is toys of every kind you can dream of. There are some great educational choices or just one that give great love. This is not a Kmart with the fill up of movie sellers, this is the real deal in toys that you remember as a kid.
Gift Creations is for all your pampering needs. There are aromatherapy candles, home fragrances and body lotion gear to treat each of the senses. When you are away from home, it is a great idea to set up your hotel room with some scents you are familiar with. This gives you an even more relaxing time and makes the room a bit of your own for comfort.
Attached to the Centre is Loc’s Hot Bread. This is the most popular bakery in town for fresh loaves of bread and rolls. It is a small shop with a super friendly owner. The prices are very competitive with the other three bakeries in town.
Next to the bakery is the only liquor shop in town, Springwood Cellars. There are a great selection of wines, spirits and beers to have a great time. The staff are really friendly to answer any questions. I am learning about Aussie wines and they are helping me to select a few for tasting.
Other shops in the Centre that a visitor will probably not need, but I’ll list them so you know they are. Medicare Services, Denture Clinic (may need this if the teeth are damaged during vacation), Springwood Gas Centre, Realty sales and an Optus phone centre.
