Trois-Rivières: A little surprise of Trois-Rivieres

It is a public secret that there are quite a few of French Canadians who are dreaming to be an individual country instead being with Canada as a whole. They want Quebec to separate and to practice the French language as the main and only language in any regions of Quebec. This situation isn’t only thick nowadays but even more in the past; and sadly, pride, prejudice, and discrimination one to another do exist in Quebec even in such a modern era as today. When you go to Trois-Rivieres, don’t be surprised when you find yourself reading a sentence strong with nationalism pride of the previous French Canadians which I think such feeling still exist and perhaps even more strong today; the sentence goes “Cooperation Toujours, Assimilation Jamais”. For those who don’t know the history of Quebec, reading such sentence might result in misjudging of the meaning of the sentence; I know my French is rusty and I don’t really read history, but word per word, Assimilation Jamais would literally means Assimilation Never; but then again, I really need to look up for the history ;)
