Old Manali: Even more eccentric alleys

There’s a charming little sub-culture town in Manali called old-Manali. Apparently, in the ‘70s, hippies that traveled to India from all over the world settled down here.
During the summer season one can rent a room and live in this community, in the winter though, the town is mostly desolate as the residents mosey down to the beaches in the South.
The rustic, old alleys are spotted with psychedelic ‘Shiva’ and ‘Third Eye’ type cafes with trance music and graffiti on their walls of people smoking chillums.
I was here around the end of winter and saw mostly barren streets, but it’s fair to guess that one would meet some interesting characters in the spring of Manali.
