Lindsay Cafe in Faulconbridge, NSW, Australia, is fun for the whole family; not only with good food, but it can be adventuresome too. It lies on the grounds of the Norman Lindsay Museum honouring a great Australian artist.

There are a variety of settings for your meal with a veranda, al fresco and dining room available. All are open to beautiful views and the food is fantastic. The tables are far apart so you will not be listening in on the other conversations or them listening to yours. It can be romantic in some areas where you are alone in the trees. I seen one couple with a bottle of wine at a lone table at the top level, a candle burning in the centre of the table and they just sat there staring at each other’s eyes for hours taking a break only to sip the wine.

Their menu is Australian cuisine with light meals, pastas, or steaks. They have vegetarian options, gluten free options and will try to cater to other allergies. They cannot guarantee peanut allergies due to peanuts being used in some of the dishes there may be cross contamination. Some of the kid’s menu items are minute steak with chips or salad, chicken and cheese toasted sandwich or spaghetti.

Kid’s meals run from $6.50 to $9.50, entrees from $2.50 to $9.50, mains from $4.50 to $28.50, desserts from $1.50 to $10.50.

There is drawing equipment for the kids during the meal, but most run through the gardens. There are small mazes of bushes, open areas with benches, and a nice 20 minute bushwalk around the property. Be sure to stay with your kids on the bushwalk, there are some large boulders with a long drop down.

They also have special kids programs for the Lindsay children’s book, “Magic Pudding”. There are also adult programs with Jazz in the gardens and more.

They are licensed BYO, will accept all cards, there is parking in front of the museum and the bus stops out front. Opening times for breakfast is Monday to Friday 9:00-11:00, Saturday and Sunday 8:30-11:00, lunch is from 10:00-5:00 every day.
