Kirribilli: Surprise parking

We were going to a wedding on the Kirribilli harbour front and we were running late, so we went right down to Jeffery's St Warf expecting to pay top dollar for parking. To our surprise, there were free spots everywhere and you could park for upto 7 hours at a rate of $0.50 per hour. Compare that to the parking lot 50 m up the street, where the rate was $5.30 per hour!

The Kirribilli water front offers stunning views of the Sydney harbour, the bridge and the Opera House. It is a popular place for weddings and it must be a fantastic spot to watch the New Year's fireworks from. Definitely take a walk there when you are in Sydney. There did not seem to be many cafes or food outlets, so take a picnic basket with you.
