Curonian Spit: Trip to Neringa from Palanga

If you happen to be in Palanga or Kleipeda in summer, the I would advice to have a ride or make a guided tour to Neringa.
Neringa is a name for the Lithuanian territory on Curonian Spit (the rest of the territory belongs to Russia and can be accessed from Kaliningrad). Cross the Curonian Gulf by the ferry, have a look at wooden sculptures in Jodkrante or the Black Shore, and finally enjoy the "Lithuanian Sahara" in Nida.
I was sooo impressed by the sandy dunes in Nida! I was not expecting anything like that in Europe. Some of my local friends like to camp there in Summer, although it is forbidden.
We decided not to violate the Law, so we were trying to find some accommodation there for our next trip.
The most useful website for this region in my opinion is www.kopos.lt . There we found lots of information about Neringa and Palanga, including accommodation options, pictures of the sights and some travel advises.
