Rossi street or ulitsa Zodchego Rossi (Улица Зодчего Росси in Russian) is a very interesting place in Saint-Petersburg. Italian architect Rossi was famous for building exceptional beautiful palaces and houses in the city. The architectural ensemble of this street is an example of perfectionism: the street is exactly 220 meters long, the buildings are 22 meters high and the distance between them is exactly 22 meters. I found out that the best way to appreciate it is to walk from Lomonosov square towards Alexandrinsky Theater. All the way back also worked for me.
Besides the architectural curiosity this street can be especially interesting for Ballet fans. One of the buildings is hosting Russian Imperial Ballet School, where such famous dancers as Anna Pavlova and Rudolf Nuriev were starting their careers as little children. They have a museum at school but I still didn’t manage to visit it. I always pass this street on my way somewhere and don’t have so much time. I’ve heard it is very interesting, so I must go one day, when I am in Saint-Petersburg again.
