Then there is the shopping--the rupee is actually quite good to spend with, so you can get a lot for a little. When I was in Amdavad, totally had to check out the place where Ghandi lived. His ashram's now a converted museum, but his writings and philosophy's definitely captured there!
The sari materials is also pretty amazing--Amdavad is known for its textiles, so the craftsmanship is as good as the price!

I guess everyone has fallen in love with the story of building a magnificent structure in memory of a loved one. And I've had postcards from friends with the traditional view of the building reflected in the water of the pond that sends shivers up my spine!
The only thing about it is the distance from New Delhi which was why I couldn't make it away. But if I had another chance to head over there on a break from Delhi, I would be there in a heartbeat!

Since I have been to Malaysia with lots of Indian cuisine and I have eaten a lot as well, I would love to see some spices, how they are planted and grown, how they are preserved and eventually, how Indians have made them so popular all throughout the world. Even here in Italy, I have seen some documentaries on TV and I want to see them for real.
And when I visit, before I went home I would definitely see the temples and tigers of India, especially the Rathambore. And who would like to miss Agra for its Taj Mahal? Definitely not I!
I'd love to visit India for the things I have mentioned above.

A friend has a travel agency that does India tours up to 4 times a year, I am still debating is it better to go with friends and make your own arrangements or travel with a group (although I really do not like that).
I know it is very affordable the only thing that is really expensive for me (as I am living in Europe) is the price of the plane ticket.

I would like to visit the Taj Mahal and other examples of beautiful Mughal architecture, but also Hindu temples as the Khajuraho.
Towards Orissa and its lake, visiting the Konark temple would be nice as well.
Would like also to visit Goa, Daman, Nagar Haveli and Diu – see about the half a millennium old Portuguese presence in India.
As I like banghra music, Punjab would be part of my trip as well. The Gulf of Bengal, Calcutta and the Ganges River – probably would make for the final of a wonderful trip.
