This tea house at Klostergatan 56 has always been one of my favorite cafés in Linköping. A few years ago the café changed owners and was refurbished, but they have kept some of its former concept and atmosphere. The name is still the same, the atmosphere is as warm as before and they still serve the best tea and scones in town. Even though it's tea and the scones Berget Café and Tea House is most famous for, people come here for breakfast as well as lunch or a cup of coffee in the afternoon.

I must say their scones are outstanding, the apricot marmalade is also worth a try. Among their lunch courses I would recommend a vegetarian lasagne or one of the pies. The staff here surely knows how to cook and bake, and they are friendly, helpful and welcoming.

The first time I came here it felt like I had entered a home of someone who lived during the 1800th century, or possibly in the beginning of the 1900th. All the furniture, from the small sofas and the tables to the lamps and the curtains, has an old-fashioned style.

Berget Café and Tea House is located in a house, so you have several rooms to choose between. The rooms downstairs, the same floor as the counter, have a lot of chairs and tables, the room upstairs has comfy armchairs and lower tables. Don't miss their open-air café which is open in the summer. And don't forget the brunch on Sundays.
