Ulmer Münster: Munster in Ulm

The Munster in Ulm is a cathedral that provides one of the most fantastic views of the city. The first that I did on my trip there was climb up the tower. From here you can see a great view of the alps. This church is actually the largest church in the world. For a few years in the 19th century it was the tallest building in the world. The entire length of the journey just climbing makes it feel as if you’ve just climbed up the Zugspitze, the tallest mountain in Germany which can also be seen from this point on a very clear day.

The art in the church is great. I enjoyed even more the architecture. The church is definitely gothic. Look for the gargoyles on the way to the steeple. This church is definitely worth a visit. It provides a great view and it is a great piece of architecture. The best part is that it was spared during World War 2 so everything about this church is still original.

The church is not at all hard to find. Just look for the one building in the whole town the towers above the rest. The church can easily be seen directly from the train station.
