Piazza Del Popolo is a major square in Rome with 3 churches, a city gate, and one of the largest Egyptian obelisks of Rome. It’s not very far from the Spanish steps, maybe a 5 minute walk. Although I don’t feel it was one of the most impressive things of our trip to Rome, between the 3,000 year old Obelisk of Ramesses II, 400 year old Porto del Pololo (Rome’s northern city gate), the church of Sant Maria del Popolo, the church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli, and the church of Santa Maria in Montesanto, I think there’s plenty to see here. For us, we went there on our last day and it wasn’t one of the highlights I think purely because Rome has such an unbelievable amount of impressive art and architecture that what would be extremely note worthy in other cities because very minor in Rome.
