Just For Laughs Carnival: The Opening of Just For Laughs Carnival

Yesterday evening around 8.30 PM was the official opening for Just For Laughs (Juste Pour Rire) Street Art Festival. A carnival of fun performing artists from France, Netherlands, and Canada (Quebec) itself entertained not just kids, teens, but also parents and elders. Starting from Rue Saint-Urbain; the Carnival performers at first were waiting on the alley between University of Quebec in Montreal (Université du Québec à Montréal) and the Church of St. John the Evangelist (near the Place des Arts metro exit UQAM); they went to Boulevard Maisonneuve East and supposedly passed by Saint Catherine Est Street as well.

I am not sure why I was under the impression that the opening carnival was around 6.30 PM; so I was already there at Parc Fred-Berry but the carnival did not start until 8.30 PM! Later on I realized, for this floating carnival, it meant to start when dusk was here as the floats of Charlie Chaplin, Mike Myers, and others were surrounded by bright colorful lights and thus they would only appear more fun in evening time.

You can catch this festive until the 22nd of July from 6.30 PM. Daily there will be entertainments from Just For Laughs (or Loto-Québec Street Theatre) for Montrealers and other people who come to Montreal for the summer fun. You can expect to see the roving performers, buskers from Australia and Japan, kids fun area, tents of souvenirs, games and liquors, and plenty other entertainers from Spain, Belgium and Germany. This is a festival of a total fun for everyone of every ages!
