The Air Force Academy was probably one of the best places to view in the area. Here there are lots of realy nice views. My favorite was the 150 foot spires that are accompanied by a tour guide who will lead you through the one third mile long path.

If you are a fan of airplanes then you will probably enjoy the B-52 Bomber display or there is also a nice overlook where you can see cadets flying planes throughout most times of the day. I really enjoyed watching the cadets show off some of their parachuting skills. I have always wanted to do something like that, yet I never have because of my fear of heights.

The best structure to see in the whole place is probably the Cadets Chapel. The Cadet Chapel at the US Air Force Academy is very nice. It's an A-frame metal church with beautiful stain glass and huge pipe organ. If you want to find out the full information about everything, then try getting a tour guide, usually you can arrange something at the tourist information center. Make sure also to go to the basement. There are even two more churches down there. One is Catholic and the other one was Jewish. Recently they have been wanting to lower the amount of tourism so that the Cadets can pray in quiet so it is better to call ask in advance whether it is still possible to visit the chapel and when you will be able to visit it

Where is the Academy located? The Academy is simply 12 miles north of downtown Colorado Springs. Simply ask someone how to get there. It really wasn’t so complicated.
