Kodaikanal is Tamil Nadu's most famous hill station. At Kodaikanal, life comes to a standstill. It’s the perfect place for a relaxing vacation. At the centre of Kodaikanal is the Kodai Lake, which is huge and beautiful.

You can go for a walk around the lake everyday - it takes about half an hour. There are always cycles available for hire at Kodaikanal, so you can rent one and go cycling through the countryside. Boating down the lake is usually a hot favourite too. I particularly enjoy the paddle boats. Horseback riding is also possible in Kodaikanal. So if you enjoy outdoor sports, Kodaikanal is a great place.

Kodaikanal is surrounded by the Palani hills where you can go trekking anytime. It isn't too difficult either, so anyone can give it a shot.

This seductive hill station is also the home of the Kurinji flowers that bloom every twelve years. Every twelve years, tourists come flocking to Kodai just to see the flower bloom.

Shopping in Kodai is a lot of fun - particularly for bags, chocolates and handicrafts.
