When I went to Cancun, I figured it would just be a bunch of drunken college students, and the only thing to do would be drink, but on the contrary, there are actually many things to do in Cancun that don't involve drinking. Take for instance the El Rey Ruins. These ruins are a great side trip and will allow you to see Iguanas. Iguanas? Yes there are literally hundreds of them all over the place. They are rather friendly and will accept bread from them. Just a warning, when you feed one, you will get the batch all over you.

If you want a guide to get a better explanation, you can pay around 5 Us Dollars for a tour guide, who will do a great job explaining the area. Remember, it is Mexico and things are much cheaper here, especially tour guides.
