Zurich has 12 Kreise (districts) that are organised clockwise around the city center. This
makes it easy for tourists to follow directions and read maps while wandering between
sights. Kreis 1 consists of The Altstadt, Oberdorf and Niederdorf which is the historic
heart of Zurich. I...

I first went to Falafel N 1 in 2006. It’s a great falafel place that has several
branches all over Malmö. The main branch is located at Bergsgatan 37 opposite the square
Möllevångstorget – a perfect location close to shopping, bars, and nightclubs. Apart
from super tasty falafels...

Tribeca which stands for Triangle below Canal Street is a trendy residential neighbourhood
west of Church Street in lower Manhattan. Apparently many actors live there. Last year I
read that Scarlett Johansson and Josh Hartnett bought an apartment there (while they were
still...

We didn’t take the chance to see the Fifth Avenue during the day. Instead we went there
one weekday evening after taking a walk along Central Park. I love seeing famous streets
at times when most tourists aren’t there. Fifth Avenue is truly sophisticated. Before
visiting a nice...

After spending pre-lunch on Upper West I went to Gramercy Park in the afternoon. One of
the things I love about New York is that one can choose what district one wants to visit
depending on one's mood. The first thought that crossed my mind when I walked along the
leafy streets, past...

West Village is the western side of Greenwich Village, located below Chelsea and above
Soho. After spending a few days at Upper West it almost felt like a relief to come to West
Village where the atmosphere is so much different, livelier, more relaxed in a way. And
because of the many...

Greenwich Village is the area that encompasses both East Village and West Village. I like
walking around there and just admire the beautiful tree lined streets, people watch and
take in the atmosphere. I enjoy the village because it has such a bohemian lifestyle and
lots of coffee...

I found the prices to be better on Lower East than other parts of Manhattan. When spending
half a day there we passed by restaurants with food from almost the whole world. So it’s
obviously a great neighbourhood for foodies, especially if you like Chinese, Kosher and
Latin food....

Apparently Chelsea is the safest area in New York and a very sought after living area,
also a large gay community. Since we only stayed at our hostel in Chelsea one night, we
didn’t see that much of the neighbourhood. The next time it would be fun to check out
some of the art...

I don’t mind spending time on Upper East or Upper West, but for some reason I feel more
“at home” in East Village. I like the laid back atmosphere, it’s busier, louder, and
the area just feels more alive. Also loved the food there, found a very cozy hummus
restaurant and a few juice...

I think Midtown is a good start for first time visitors because the most well-known
attractions can be found there - the Empire State Building, Grand Central Station and
Times Square of course. The first day in New York we stayed at a hotel in Midtown West. In
the evening we just...

The last day before going home I spent the day by myself on the Upper East Side. We
hadn’t seen much of the east side and I wanted to check out the area a bit more. Upper
East is located from 59th to 96th Street. I found the area to be very luxurious and rather
quiet, at least...

Meatpacking District is located from 14th Street on the north to Gansevoort Street at the
south at the northwest corner of Greenwich Village. When visiting the Meatpacking District
in 2004 I loved it at once. Luckily it’s not a meat market there anymore, only a great
district with a...

After passing through Little Italy, we came to Chinatown. It was actually the first time I
ever visited a Chinatown district. And I loved it, mostly because it’s such a colourful
and lively area. The food isn’t bad either. You’ll find most restaurants near Mott
Street and, apparently,...

So far I have only been to Little Italy once. The area is located on Mulberry Street, next
to Chinatown. We only passed by on our way to Chinatown, I thought the area seemed very
touristy and the guy we hung out with that day said Little Italy was much better before.
While Chinatown...

SoHo means South of Houston Street, it’s the area at Canal Street between Sixth Avenue
and Lafayette Street. The neighbourhood has lots of fashion boutiques, modern art
galleries, chic restaurants, bars, night clubs and hotels. I also like the markets you can
find there during the...

Seeing Oliver Stone’s award winning movie Wall Street in the 90s was my first picture of
the Financial District. I like this area because there are so many things to see, and the
area has its own unique atmosphere. For those who don’t know, Financial District is
located in lower...

Ever since I saw the sight of the Great Lawn in a movie I have wanted to see it for
myself. I’m truly in love with the Great Lawn and I know for sure I’ll never stop
loving this part of Central Park. Just walking across the Great Lawn and looking at all
the mid Manhattan skyscrapers...

If you like muffins and tea you will not be disappointed by The Muffin Man Tea Shop in
Kensington. I was there once in 2006 and have walked by a couple of times. The café has
been around for quite a while and has many regular costumers. Some people may think it’s
overpriced and too...

The best thing with Copthorne Tara Hotel was the location. Since the hotel is located only
one or two minutes walk from High Street Kensington and not far from Kensington Gardens,
that's great. Otherwise I didn't find much about the hotel that I liked and I wouldn’t
stay there again....

The Copthorne...
