New Munich Walking Tour
The main problem with their tour is that the lack of actual historical information is filled in with complete crap. Be forewarned, as many of their stories have no truth to them at all.
Entertainment, maybe, but a tour of Munich? no. Then again, they go through guides faster than most babies go through diapers... |

A boatride to the beach
We have no beaches down here in Munich :-(
Everytime I'm in Hamburg, it seems to be in December though...so that doesn't work. |

I agree, definitely worth visiting...I just simply didn't have enough time last time I was there and will have to go back.

Hofbräuhaus, Munich
At the HB haus? you'd get one weird look ordering a beer like that.
What you need to say is "Ein Mass, bitte", you don't even have to say beer, he/she isn't listening anymore at that point, it's too busy. |

Hofbräuhaus
The Hofbräuhaus was founded as a wheat beer brewery in 1607.
However, it was not a beer hall until 1896. The 16th century date you're referring to (1589) was for the lager beer brewery 1 city block away, which is connected to the Alte Hof (there is now a vegan restaurant in it). |

Viktualienmarkt
I have a major issue with the wording "at much cheaper prices than the local shops", as everyone in Munich knows it as the most expensive place to buy produce. However, it IS the highest quality, so you get what you pay for.
I go through the Victualienmarkt at least a couple times a week, and regularly buy produce there, it is not cheap. |
